The separation and divorce announcement by Nigerian singer 2Face Idibia from Annie Idibia on January 26, 2025, caused shockwaves worldwide.
2Face, also known as Innocent Ujah Idibia, has sparked controversy, with many noting how the two were an admired celebrity couple, making the news rather upsetting.
Annie’s cast members in the Netflix TV series Young, Famous & African have come out in support of Annie, sending her heartwarming messages.
A statement was recently shared on 2Baba’s account announcing the news, only to be removed later. Another post claimed that his account was hacked.
However, 2Baba later shared a video message clarifying that his account was not hacked. Ugandan-South African-based Zari Hassan was the first to share her message on her Instagram page, writing:
“Africa loves you, baby girl,” she captioned a picture of the two in happier times while tagging Annie’s Instagram account, @annieidibia1.
Others have shared their observations of Annie and 2Face. Castmate Khanyi Mbau, using her account Mbaureloaded, wrote on her Instagram stories: “WE GOT YOU, RAZ,” alongside an Instagram reel of Annie in a stunning black-and-white portrait.
Khanyi, a successful South African businesswoman, used her popular platform to rally support behind Annie.
According to Khanyi, Annie should make friends with silence because she would learn a lot from it. “Raz, put on your rain boots and go feel the rain on your skin. You will weather this storm! Make friends with the silence…It will teach you a lot. Annie Idibia, you are the moment.”
Khanyi also criticized 2Baba for publicizing the divorce: “Nothing makes me sick like a man who runs to social media when things go south in his relationship. @official2baba disgusting! Annie does not walk alone.”
Castmate Luis Munana posted a video with Annie, joined by Zari’s husband, Shakib Cham, during a behind-the-scenes shoot on the streets.
He tagged her Instagram account, @annieidibia1, adding a broken red heart emoji. Annie appeared very happy in the video shoot, laughing as she showcased her modelling skills while Shakib and Luis giggled alongside her.
Luis, a 33-year-old Namibian, is a fashion and lifestyle enthusiast. This is his first stint on the Netflix show. Kayleigh Schwark also sent positive thoughts, reposting another comment that read: “A moment for the cast supporting Annie.” She added: “It’s always love.”

Nigerian singer 2Face Idibia popularly known as Tuface, announced his divorce from his wife Annie Macaulay on January 26. 2025. The Music Icon blamed hackers shortly after an Instagram post on Sunday announcing his separation from Annie.
2Face has now clarified that they are separated, and he has filed for divorce. In the now-deleted post, 2Baba wrote, “Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long… Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now and have currently filed for divorce.
I will grant a press release soon to tell my story, not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offence. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.” The couple legalized their union in a quiet ceremony in the Lagos registry on May 1 2012. They later had a glamorous traditional and white wedding the following year.
They have two children. The duo was said to have met at the then-famous Even Ezra Music Studio when she was 15. They were friends but officially started dating when they shot the ‘African Queen’ video in 2004.
He has children with three other women had children. The African Queen singer and his wife soon after began marital issues over his family. She unfollowed him plus his family members, and it was alleged it was because of his supposed reunion with his baby mama, Pero Adeniyi and her children in the U.S.
In March 2022, she lamented that even though 2Baba met her first, her first child was his fifth. That same month, Wisdom Macaulay, Annie’s elder brother, accused her of enslaving him. According to Wisdom, he has been working for Annie, who would rather pay him stipends than full dues.
