Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has sent an encouraging message to candidates who sat for the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination but did not attain the grades they had hoped for, urging them not to lose faith in their future.
In his message directed at the youth, the outspoken legislator acknowledged the emotional toll that disappointing results can have on students and their families, while emphasizing that academic performance alone does not determine success in life.
Owino noted that many young people feel immense pressure to excel in national examinations, yet there are numerous alternative pathways that can lead to fulfilling careers and meaningful contributions to society.
He encouraged candidates to consider enrolling in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, describing them as practical and market-driven options that equip learners with hands-on skills.
According to the MP, TVETs offer training in diverse fields such as engineering, hospitality, construction, information technology, and other technical disciplines that are increasingly in demand in Kenya’s job market.
He further advised students to explore diploma programmes offered by colleges across the country, adding that such courses provide specialized knowledge and can serve as stepping stones to further education or employment.
For those who feel capable of improving their performance, Owino also highlighted the option of re-sitting KCSE examinations, stressing that perseverance and commitment to continuous learning are critical in achieving long-term goals.
In addition, the legislator encouraged young people to embrace entrepreneurship, urging them to develop innovative ideas and business skills that can lead to financial independence.
He reminded the youth that many successful individuals overcame academic setbacks before achieving their ambitions.
Babu Owino’s message underscores the importance of resilience, determination, and adaptability, reinforcing the idea that a single examination outcome does not define one’s future or limit their potential to succeed.
