Celebrated Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau alias Kate Actress has opened up about her life and revealed that she has been facing ageism.
According to the multi award-winning actress, some people have been trolling her for how she is almost clocking 40-years-old, something which she feels is not appropriate.
The mother of two revealed this in a post that she made on her Facebook stories on Saturday, the 10th of January, where she further made it clear that once she clocks 40-years-old she will stop counting her age publicly in order to deal with the trolling.
“Almost 39…From next year no counting 😂…The show I am watching right now ‘Younger’ has Ageism as one of the themes. I don’t understand Age shaming. Why is it an issue?” She said.
Kate Actress then proceeded to ask her fans whether they could lie about their ages.
One fan responded by saying that he/she wouldn’t. He/she however also wondered why people usually do that, and then slammed those who age shame others.
“Nope! Why are you shaming me coz i was born before you?? Tulia! Hujui if you’ll ever get here” the anonymous fan said.
Kate Actress then responded by supporting what the fan had said.
“Yeah why? Why are you mad that I am that age? mmh? Mbona? Tulia ujana ni moshi” she said.
