DAP-K party candidate in the recently concluded Malava Constituency parliamentary by-elections, Seth Panyako,has announced that he will be going the Raila way ( swearing himself in ).
Speaking in an exclusive interview with a leading media station earlier today, the firebrand political cog declared himself “the people’s MP” just as Raila announced himself the people’s president in 2017.
After declaring himself the people’s MP, Panyako said that he will soon be holding a swearing in ceremony where he will take oath of office infront of thousands of supporters.
“I won the race. I am the people’s Member of Parliament. Soon, I will be holding a swearing in ceremony that will be attended by more than ten thousand people,” said Panyako.
“I earlier on, I said that I didn’t want to be like Raila. I am taking this moment to withdraw that statement. I admire and hold Raila in high regard as a leader who spearheaded the fight for democracy in Kenya,” added Panyako.
Questioned on his future political plans, Panyako dismissed earlier reports that claimed he would withdraw from politics should he lose the race to Ndakwa.
“I said if I lose, I will withdraw from politics. But i didn’t lose. I won. It is in light of this that I will still be here come 2027,” he said.
Lastly, Panyako announced that he will be respecting the party’s decision to take the by-election matter to court.
