Popular Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Akothee has publicly shared a personal encounter with her worker, Brayan, over issues of honesty and responsibility.

In a candid social media post on Tuesday, Akothee recounted a series of events that led to a dramatic decision regarding Brayan’s employment.

According to the singer, Brayan had been requesting funds to purchase garden tools. Akothee sent him KES 2,000 on Sunday, but he continuously claimed that he had not received the money.

The following day, he pursued her further, asking for more funds. On Tuesday, Brayan insisted that he could not clean the compound because he had only received KES 400 instead of the full KES 2,000.

Akothee investigated the matter, checking Brayan’s phone records and confirming through Safaricom that the full amount had been received.

Brayan initially denied receiving the money but eventually laughed it off after being presented with proof.

In her post, Akothee expressed her frustration, emphasizing that she does not tolerate dishonesty. “I can smile and laugh with you today, but I can change into something you don’t know. That’s how empaths operate,” she wrote.

As a result, Akothee decided that Brayan would no longer work for her. She noted that he was free to return to his mother’s home, adding a stern warning about the consequences of irresponsible behavior.

The singer concluded her post with a reflection on generational values, referring to Brayan as her “Gen Z son of the soil” and reminding followers of the importance of accountability, honesty, and integrity in both personal and professional relationships.

This revelation has sparked conversations online, with many praising Akothee for her straightforward approach to dealing with dishonesty while also highlighting the challenges of managing young adults in the workforce.
