Residents of Dandora, Nairobi, caught a hawker allegedly selling urine disguised as Minute Maid juice. The urine was poured into Minute Maid bottles and diluted to look like the real product.
According to locals, the hawker was selling the fake juice at very cheap rates, attracting buyers across the estate.
When residents discovered the scheme, they seized the bottles and exposed the act live on camera, warning others in the community. The hawker managed to escape before the police arrived. The estate residents have formally reported the case to the local police station. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter to prevent further public health risks.
Residents expressed shock and concern over the repeated occurrence. Many fear the contaminated juice may have already reached children and other unsuspecting buyers.
