Former LSK President Nelson Havi has resigned from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). He submitted his resignation letter to the party’s Secretary General.

Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has formally exited the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), the ruling party led by President William Ruto.

His resignation was contained in a letter dated November 7, 2025, addressed to the UDA Secretary General and copied to the Registrar of Political Parties.

In the notice, Havi confirmed that his departure takes effect immediately and requested the removal of his name from the party’s records.

“I hereby give notice of resignation as a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) effective today, in accordance with Section 14 of the Political Parties Act. Kindly notify the Registrar of Political Parties to facilitate the removal of my name from the party’s membership list,” the letter read in part.

Havi joined UDA in 2021 and later contested for the Westlands parliamentary seat in the 2022 General Election, though he did not clinch the seat.

At the time, he had been welcomed into the party by then Deputy President William Ruto in a high-profile move that signalled his entry into active politics.

Havi has not yet issued a public statement clarifying the reasons for his resignation or his future political direction.

More updates are expected as the political landscape continues to realign ahead of upcoming national political activities.
