NPS has updated and corrected some recruitment centre locations. NYS graduates can now also report to NYS Headquarters in Ruaraka.

The National Police Service (NPS) has released an updated notice correcting several details in the earlier police recruitment advertisement published on October 31, 2025. The clarification was issued on Friday, November 7, to guide applicants preparing for the upcoming nationwide recruitment.

According to the statement, the adjustments mainly affect some recruitment centre locations, while all other information in the initial notice remains unchanged.

The NPS confirmed that ex-National Youth Service (NYS) candidates may now choose to present themselves at either their home sub-county recruitment centre, or NYS Headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi, which had not been listed previously.

This change ensures NYS graduates are accommodated without confusion on where to report.

Two counties recorded changes in recruitment venues after the initial list contained errors:

County Previous Venue Correct Venue
Kajiado West Ole Polos Elangata Wuas DCC’s Office
Narok West Unspecified earlier centre Ng’osuani Centre

NPS emphasised that the corrections are meant to ensure clarity and smooth coordination on recruitment day.

The police recruitment will take place on Monday, November 17, 2025, across all designated centres, running from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Applicants are advised to arrive early and report strictly at their assigned centres.

This exercise follows a court ruling confirming that the authority to handle police recruitment lies with the Inspector General of Police.

Applicants must meet the following criteria: Must be a Kenyan citizen. Hold a valid National ID card. Age: Between 18 and 28 years. Minimum academic qualification: KCSE Grade D+ (with at least a D in English or Kiswahili). Physically and medically fit. Minimum height: 5 ft 8 in (Men), 5 ft 3 in (Women). No criminal record or pending charges. Female applicants must not be pregnant during recruitment and training.

NYS graduates are especially encouraged to apply, provided they have a discharge certificate with at least a “GOOD” conduct rating.

Interested candidates must download and fill out the official recruitment form from any of the websites below: www.nationalpolice.go.ke , www.kenyapolice.go.ke , www.administrationpolice.go.ke , www.dci.go.ke , www.mygov.go.ke

On recruitment day, applicants must bring both original and copies of: Academic certificates, National ID, Birth Certificate, and NYS Discharge Certificate (if applicable)
