Match ends 3-3 in Belgium after a fast and dramatic contest. Brugge’s Carlos Forbs shines with two goals and constant danger.

Barcelona were held to a dramatic 3-3 draw by Club Brugge in a high-tempo Champions League match at the Jan Breydelstadion. Brugge took the lead after six minutes when Carlos Forbs raced behind the defence and set up Nicolo Tresoldi to score. Barcelona reacted almost immediately, with Ferran Torres finishing well after being picked out by Fermin Lopez.

Brugge continued to threaten on the counter. Forbs scored their second in the 17th minute with a composed finish, while Barcelona hit the post multiple times through Fermin, Jules Kounde and Eric Garcia

Barcelona equalised in the second half when Lamine Yamal finished neatly after a clever back-heel assist from Fermin Lopez. But their defensive problems resurfaced, as Forbs once again broke clear to score his second and restore Brugge’s advantage.

VAR denied Brugge a penalty soon after, ruling that Forbs had initiated contact when challenging Alejandro Balde.

Barcelona found their equaliser in the 77th minute when Yamal curled in a dangerous cross that Christos Tzolis turned into his own net. Late drama followed when Brugge thought they had won the match, but VAR ruled Romeo Vermant’s stoppage-time goal out for a foul on goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Barcelona leave Belgium frustrated after showing attacking quality but clear defensive weaknesses, while Club Brugge earn a well-deserved point in an unforgettable European night.
