Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve died in a road accident in Haiti on September 1, 2025.

The National Police Service (NPS) has honoured the late Corporal Kennedy Nzuve, describing him as a brave and loyal officer who served the country with pride.

On Friday evening, NPS officers formally received his body at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). The reception was led by Isaac Alimaa, the Commandant of the National Police College Embakasi ‘A’ Campus, alongside other senior officials.

Corporal Nzuve lost his life on September 1, 2025, in a road accident while serving in Haiti under the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM). At the time of his death, he was attached to the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU).

On Sunday, Dr Masoud Mwinyi, the Principal Deputy to the Deputy Inspector-General of the Administration Police Service, visited Nzuve’s home in Mwihoko, Kiambu County. Representing the Inspector-General, Douglas Kanja, Dr Mwinyi offered condolences and comforted the grieving family, quoting Psalm 34:18:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Dr Mwinyi hailed Nzuve’s courage and dedication, noting that his sacrifice would not be forgotten.

“The late Corporal Nzuve served with distinction, and his name will be remembered with the deepest gratitude,” he said.

He was accompanied by top officers, among them Chief of Staff Haron Nthiga, Director of Planning and External Linkages Lawrence Owino, Deputy Director of Security Operations Ibrahim Alike, RDU Commandant Aggrey Shamala, and other senior officials.

The requiem mass for the late officer will be held on Tuesday at St Daniel Comboni Catholic Church, NPC Embakasi ‘A’ Campus.

NPS has assured the family that they will continue to stand with them during this difficult period as the nation bids farewell to one of its own.
