Content creator Mitchelle Joyce Akoth Oruko, aka Mjaka Mfine, was robbed in Nairobi’s CBD.
Popular online personality Mjaka Mfine has spoken out after being robbed in Nairobi’s Central Business District. She narrated on Milele FM that a gang of thugs snatched her human hair wig valued at KSh17,000 while she was walking.
“Human hair starts at KSh15,000 and above. Mine was KSh17,000,” she lamented, adding that everything happened so quickly she could not react.
Her case has drawn attention to the growing wave of daylight robberies in the city centre. Reports show criminals are targeting pedestrians along busy routes such as Moi Avenue and Kimathi Street, often near restaurants and bus stops.
These gangs reportedly use different tactics, from intimidation to smearing victims with human waste. In some cases, victims are drugged before being robbed.
The bold nature of the attacks has left many Nairobians alarmed. Kenyans online and offline are urging authorities to act fast and restore safety in the CBD.
“How can such things happen in the open streets? We need police presence to stop this,” one resident complained.
Security agencies are now under pressure to step up patrols and protect city dwellers from the rising crime wave.
