Java House has launched its 100th outlet in East Africa.
Java House, a well-known coffee and casual dining chain, has reached a new milestone by opening its 100th outlet in East Africa. The new branch, located in Kampala, Uganda, is part of the company’s continued expansion across the region.
The Kampala outlet is not a full restaurant but a compact Java Express store. This new format is designed for fast service and convenience, appealing to busy city customers. According to Java House Uganda’s General Manager, Eusila Jepleting, the Express model has been a big success in urban areas.
“From our humble beginnings to now being East Africa’s largest coffee chain, we are proud to carry the flag for African brands that dare to dream big,” said Jepleting.
Java House already runs similar Express outlets in Najjera and Muyenga, which have become popular with local customers. The expansion into Kampala strengthens Java’s presence in Uganda, where demand for fast coffee service continues to grow.
This milestone comes shortly after Java House entered a new ownership phase. In January 2025, Alterra Capital and Phatisa Group jointly acquired the business, making it the fourth change of ownership in 12 years.
