Body Found Near Home
The quiet of Uriri was broken on Wednesday morning when the body of Michael Odhiambo Omamba, 30, was discovered lying by the roadside, only about 20 metres from his house. Police confirmed he had suffered a deep stab wound to his chest, raising fears that the murder was planned.
Reports from residents say Michael was last seen the night before, enjoying drinks at a local bar in the company of a friend. Officers said the killer likely had a clear purpose.
“We believe the killer had a specific mission,” said one of the investigators at the scene.
Investigators ruled out robbery as a motive since his phone and wallet were untouched. This further strengthened suspicions that the attack was deliberate and personal.
Michael’s brother, George Omamba, who serves as MCA for North Kanyamkago, has urged police to move quickly and bring those responsible to justice. The Omamba family is in deep mourning, struggling to come to terms with this unexpected loss.
This tragedy has struck the family just weeks after the death of Suslia Omamba, the first wife of the late MP Haman Omamba. She died on July 5 and is expected to be buried on August 8. The double loss has thrown the family into sorrow.
Detectives are continuing with investigations, while the body awaits postmortem examination at the local mortuary
