A police officer was found murdered along the Ndori–Luanda Kotieno Road in Siaya County
A tragic incident has shocked residents of Rarieda, Siaya County, after a police officer was discovered murdered on Thursday evening, July 17. The body of Constable Christone Maundu, who served at Aram Police Station, was found lying lifeless on the roadside near Rarieda Secondary School.
According to early reports, Maundu was on his way back to Aram Shopping Centre after escorting two fellow officers. Unfortunately, his journey was cut short when his motorbike ran out of fuel near Ndori–Luanda Kotieno Road. He reportedly called for help from his colleagues.
When his fellow officers finally reached the scene, they were met with horror. Maundu’s body was lying in a pool of blood, with severe head injuries believed to have been inflicted using a sharp object. His motorbike was found next to his body, but the attackers had already escaped.
“They found him motionless and bleeding on the ground,” police said in a brief statement.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing. At the moment, the motive behind the gruesome murder remains unclear. Detectives are now gathering evidence and pursuing leads to identify and arrest those behind the attack.
This unfortunate killing has left many questions unanswered, with locals and law enforcement calling for speedy justice.
