KRA staffer Gilbert Kibet was stabbed near Genasa Bar in Muhuru, Migori
A quiet evening turned tragic in Muhuru Town, Migori County, after a Kenya Revenue Authority officer was killed in a brutal stabbing near a local bar. The incident occurred on the night of Thursday, July 11, just outside Genasa Bar and Restaurant.
The victim, Gilbert Kibet, was reportedly heading home from a private outing when the attacker struck.
Police say Kibet was stabbed on the left side of his neck. Despite efforts to rush him to a hospital nearby, he sadly passed away before receiving treatment. His body has since been moved to Migori County Referral Hospital for a postmortem.
The main suspect, known only by the nickname “Boy”, escaped the scene immediately after the incident. Law enforcement officials have now launched a manhunt to track him down.
Deputy County Commissioner Festus Kimeu confirmed the killing, saying:
“The motive behind the killing is yet to be established, and investigations are underway.”
