A woman identified as Susan Rioba has demanded Sh400,000 in compensation after claiming she was mistakenly served acid instead of water at a popular entertainment spot in Mombasa.

According to her account, the incident happened in January 2026 at a club located in Shanzu.

Rioba says she ordered a drink but was instead given a harmful chemical substance. After consuming it, she allegedly developed serious health problems and had to be rushed to hospital.

She claims that doctors later confirmed she had suffere acid poisoning which led to painful injuries and required medical treatment.

Rioba says the incident caused her physical pain, emotional distress, and loss of income during her recovery period.

Following the incident, she sent a formal demand letter to the club asking for Sh400,000.

The money, according to her, is meant to cover hospital bills, emotional suffering, and the income she lost while receiving treatment.

Safwan transformed his path and found his voice through  the club said it is not responsible for what happened.

In a response dated February 2, 2026 the management stated that the establishment does not handle or store acids or any corrosive substances.

The lawyers explained that the club only deals in food and alcoholic beverages meant for consumption.

They further claimed that the alleged acid belonged to a third party who was with Rioba at the time of the incident.

According to the club’s legal team, Rioba allegedly admitted that the chemical substance belonged to her companion and that it had been bought from somewhere else, not from the club.

Because of this, they argued that any legal action should be directed at the third party involved.
