There was jubilation on Tuesday, December 30, as former President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived at the burial of former Cabinet Minister and Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo in Lumakanda, Kakamega County.

When Jirongo died, Uhuru was among leaders who joined Kenyans in Mourning.
In a statement from the Office of the 4th President of Kenya, Uhuru remembered Jirongo as a bold and principled leader who served nation with dedication.
He said the former Lugari legislator was passionate about championing the interests of the youth and worked tirelessly for the country.
