Viral Manchester United supporter Frank Illet his long hair is “going soon”—over a year after he started a challenge not to have it cut until his side won five matches in a row.
Viral Manchester United fan Frank Ilet has reacted to his club’s fourth consecutive win, as his haircut is now closer than ever.
On Saturday afternoon, United interim manager Michael Carrick picked up yet another win in charge of his former club, beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Old Trafford.
After a reckless challenge from Cristian Romero saw the Spurs captain sent off in the first half, United dominated much of the game, with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and captain Bruno Fernandes securing the win.
The result further boosts United’s chances of securing a spot in the Champions League next season, and amazingly leaves them just nine points behind league leaders Arsenal.
However, there is one fan who will no doubt be happier than anybody else, as viral supporter Ilet needs just one more win to finally get a haircut.
Back in October 2024, Ilet went viral as he released a video vowing nut to cut his hair until his beloved Manchester United won five games in a row.
Now, 490 days later, Ilet’s hair has outlasted two United managers and seen the club through various spells of great success and dismal failures.
But now, United’s win over Spurs leaved Ilet closer than he has ever been to finally getting a haircut, as Carrick has led the club to four wins in a row.
And it’s safe to say that Ilet is excited about the possibility, as he took to social media to share his reaction to the win.
Posting on his Instagram story, he kept it simple, writing: “This is it!”
However, that’s not all he posted, as he then shared a lengthy video joking about losing the match, and it’s not gone down particularly well with some United fans.
United face West Ham United in an away trip to the London Stadium on Tuesday night in what will be the deciding match for Ilet and the future of his hair.
In the video, Ilet pretends to be speaking to his therapist on day 1000 of the challenge, discussing losing the match with West Ham United 3-1, concerning some fans that he may be speaking it into existence.
Reacting to the post, one fan wrote: “Bro what are you wishing for! We’re almost there 4/5.”
Another added: “Brother, just one more win needed. Don’t tempt fate!”
