Oleksandr Usyk knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 5th round at Wembley to reclaim his IBF title.
Tyson Fury has once again called for a third fight against Oleksandr Usyk, claiming the Ukrainian champion “knows” he’s the only man capable of defeating him.
This comes after Usyk’s dominant fifth-round knockout of British contender Daniel Dubois on Saturday at Wembley. The win saw Usyk reclaim the IBF heavyweight title he had vacated earlier this year and reaffirm his reign as the undisputed heavyweight king.
The 38-year-old now holds the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF belts, having become the first fighter in over 20 years to unify all four titles after defeating Fury in May 2024 in a split-decision.
Fury, who suffered another defeat to Usyk in their December 2024 rematch, had briefly retired from boxing. But following Usyk’s latest performance, the 36-year-old appears re-energised.
In a video posted on Instagram, Fury congratulated Usyk but didn’t hold back:
“Massive shout-out to Oleksandr Usyk. He did a fantastic performance tonight over Daniel Dubois… but Oleksandr Usyk knows there is only one man who can beat him. I did it twice before and the world knows it. I took it like a man.”
“No matter what anyone wants to say, I won those fights. Guaranteed, 100 per cent. There is only one man, GK [Gypsy King] all day, every day.”
Despite Fury’s challenge, promoter Frank Warren clarified that Joseph Parker is currently the WBO’s mandatory challenger.
“Tyson has made it very clear to me he would love to fight at Wembley and would love to do that [trilogy] fight,” Warren said. “It would be a big fight, I am quite sure of it.”
“As a fan, I would like to see the Joe Parker fight. Joe deserves it. He is on a run himself… and that is the fight that has been ordered.”
Warren noted that unless Usyk agrees to the trilogy, Parker may instead fight for a vacant title.
Usyk’s commanding performance against Dubois has reignited the heavyweight conversation. With Fury back in the headlines and Parker pushing for his shot, fans can expect more fireworks ahead.
