"Tumechoka" Presidential Candidate Fred Matiang’i Exposes Ruto For Destroying Uhuru's Achievements, Says Kenya Can't Take Another Term

Jubilee presidential candidate Fred Matiang’i has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto, accusing his administration of rolling back key gains made under former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking on Wednesday, Matiang’i declared that Ruto must be voted out in 2027, insisting the country cannot withstand another five years of Kenya Kwanza leadership.

“Our country cannot afford another term for a regime that is deliberately eroding development gains made by previous governments,” Matiang’i said.

The former Interior CS singled out education, accusing the Ruto administration of plotting to hike school fees, a move he said would overburden parents and undo reforms achieved during Uhuru’s tenure.

On Wednesday, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro pushed back, dismissing criticism directed at Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Whenever politicians want to increase school fees in January, they conveniently blame Uhuru,” Nyoro said.

Yesterday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna publicly apologised to Uhuru Kenyatta over sustained political attacks, noting that the former president stood firmly with the late Raila Odinga during ODM’s presidential battles.

However, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah accused Uhuru of actively working to weaken President Ruto’s government.

“When I look at President Uhuru Kenyatta, I see a man yet to heal from the loss of the 2022 elections,” Ichung’wah claimed.

Since leaving office in 2022, Uhuru Kenyatta has remained politically active through the Jubilee Party, support for opposition alliances, and continued involvement in regional mediation efforts across Africa.
