Claims circulated online alleging that Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru was the owner of Climax buses after a road accident that claimed the life of businessman Cyrus Jirongo.
The fatal crash happened in western Kenya when Jirongo’s car was involved in a collision with a Climax passenger bus, resulting in his immediate death.
Police reports verified the involvement of the bus and indicated that investigations were necessary to determine how the accident occurred.

Despite the lack of documentary proof, social media posts quickly linked the bus company to Waiguru, fueling widespread public discussion.
The allegations spread rapidly due to Waiguru’s high public profile and heightened sensitivity around road safety and accountability.

However, checks of official business and transport records revealed no ownership or direct association between Waiguru and Climax Coaches.
Law enforcement officers processed the accident scene and examined key factors such as driver conduct, vehicle condition, and road environment.

Authorities continued their investigation to establish the cause of the crash and determine any legal responsibility, while media outlets clarified the distinction between verified facts and unsubstantiated claims.
