Soipan Tuya Breaks Silence after President Ruto Nominated her to Replace Duale in Defence Docket

Rosalinda Soipan Tuya is one of the Cabinet Secretaries recently re-appointed by President William Samoei Ruto. She previously served as the Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry. The CS was among those who had been dismissed.

Today, Soipan announced her nomination as the Cabinet Secretary for Defence by the President. The position was previously held by Aden Bare Duale. Her nomination is pending until approved by the National Assembly.

Taking to her Twitter account, Soipan said, “Eternally grateful to God for His favour! I thank President William Samoei Ruto for nominating me as Cabinet Secretary for Defence. Upon confirmation, I will give it my all, in service to the people of Kenya”.

In a recent nomination by H.E William Ruto, I am honoured to accept the Cabinet Secretary of Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs position. Upon confirmation, I look forward to working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the Blue Economy, Mining, and Maritime sectors take a leading role in the socio-economic transformation by leveraging my extensive knowledge and experience in these fields to drive innovation, create jobs, and foster sustainable growth.
