A huge fire tore through the Bebe Hope mattress factory in Thika, and now rescuers have found two more bodies. More people are hurt.
The fire started after gas pipes inside the building exploded, and flames spread fast, swallowing up the whole factory. What’s left now is just wreckage.
Four people landed in Thika Level 5 Hospital, and one of them needed special care at Kenyatta National Hospital. Three firefighters got hurt fighting the blaze, but they’re okay and already out of the hospital.

After this, people are really worried about how safe these factories are. Kiambu MCAs are telling factory owners they need to put in emergency exits and actually follow safety rules.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is looking into what caused the fire. Authorities are still trying to find everyone who was inside when it happened.
They’re also planning to add more fire hydrants in industrial zones, hoping next time help can get there faster.
While investigators do their work, the community is stepping up, helping out families who lost loved ones or were injured.

The fire’s made it clear industrial areas need to be better prepared for emergencies. Factory owners are under pressure to make their workplaces safer and follow the rules.
