Fresh details have emerged surrounding the fatal road crash that claimed the life of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo.
Records from the National Transport and Safety Authority show that the Mercedes Benz he was driving at the time of the accident was not registered in his name.
The crash happened in the early hours of Saturday, December 13, at Karai along the Nairobi Nakuru Highway. The area is widely known as a dangerous black spot due to frequent accidents.

Jirongo died on the spot after his vehicle collided with a speeding Climax passenger bus that was heading to Busia from Nairobi.
According to NTSA data, the Mercedes Benz with registration number KCZ 350C is registered to Smart Cars Limited, a Nairobi-based vehicle import company.
This revelation has raised new questions about Jirongo’s long-standing association with the car, even though official ownership was not under his name.
