Raphael Tuju resigns from Jubilee after six years of service.
Former Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has stepped down after serving in the position for six years.
In his resignation letter dated August 19, Tuju looked back on his journey in the party, highlighting his close partnership with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was also Jubilee’s party leader.
“This letter is to thank you and to pay tribute to our political association that dates back to the time when I worked with you under President Kibaki to create the PNU outfit,” Tuju wrote.
He added:
“What I am satisfied about is that I remained loyal to you as the President, the Party leader, and as a member of the cabinet.”
After Tuju’s resignation, Jeremiah Kioni officially became the new Secretary General of Jubilee Party.
Tuju, who also served as a Cabinet Secretary, was among the key figures in Jubilee’s creation and strategy during the 2013 and 2017 general elections. His resignation ends an important chapter in Jubilee’s leadership history.
