As the long await upcoming 2027 general election continues to near different political realignments have been seen to continue taking shape with political friends turning to enemies.
Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga has now assigned himself a special assignment that could completely change the 2027 political matrix.
According to Njenga, he is personally going to reconcile Deputy President Prof Kithure Kindiki and his predecessor Rigathi Gachagua.
There has been bad political blood between Gachagua and the DP, which played out openly during the hot- tempered Mbeere North constituency by-election which was won the UDA party candidate Leo wa Muthende.
This comes at the time the former DP is keen to cement his place in Mount Kenya region politics, projecting himself as its spokesperson.
But Prof. Kindki has shown his insatiable appetite to invade the Gachagua political empire and make him the region’s undisputed political spokesperson.
Even as the former Mungiki throws his weight behind President William Ruto in his reelection bid, can he succeed in reconciling him with Gachagua? If this happens, what does 2027 hold for the opposition?
