Jose Mourinho reportedly racked up a £656,000 bill at the Four Seasons Hotel in Istanbul. The Portuguese coach spent nearly 16 months living in a luxury hotel while managing Fenerbahce.

Jose Mourinho chose to stay at the Five-Star Four Seasons Hotel on the Bosphorus throughout his Fenerbahce tenure. The hotel, a 19th-century Ottoman palace, offered all the luxury he could want. Swimming pools, a spa, fine dining – Mourinho enjoyed it all.

Staff shared that his favourite meals were simple: chicken soup, margherita pizza, ice cream, and sparkling water. Despite the luxury, he never moved into a private home, keeping his hotel lifestyle consistent.

By the time Mourinho left Fenerbahce, the bill for his stay reportedly reached 36.5 million Turkish lira, about £656,000. His short tenure of six games is already being remembered more for the cost of living than the results on the pitch.

It is still not clear who will cover the bill. Mourinho received a £7.7 million severance package, which could easily handle the extravagant hotel cost if needed.

This is not Mourinho’s first hotel-heavy lifestyle. During his Manchester United days from 2016 to 2018, he stayed at The Lowry Hotel for 895 days and racked up a £537,000 bill.

Now at Benfica, the Portuguese coach seems to continue his habit of choosing comfort and luxury, proving that Mourinho’s love for hotels is as strong as his flair for drama.
