Juventus have dismissed head coach Igor Tudor following a disappointing spell that saw the team go eight matches without a win across all competitions. The decision comes after increasing pressure from fans and management, who have been demanding a turnaround in results.
Although the club has not yet issued an official statement on the matter, Italian media outlets confirm that Tudor’s departure was finalised early this week.
Reports from multiple Italian newspapers suggest that Luciano Spalletti, the former Italian national team coach, has been chosen to replace Tudor. The announcement is expected either late Wednesday or on Thursday, marking a new chapter for the Serie A giants.
Speaking at an event in Milan, Spalletti shared his thoughts about the speculation linking him to Juventus.
“It would be nice for me to get a new opportunity to get back into the game after that,” Spalletti said, adding that “any manager would be happy to take the Juventus job.”
The veteran coach, who previously led Napoli to Serie A glory, expressed readiness to return to club management following his challenging tenure with the Italian national team.
According to reports, Juventus are set to make the appointment official after their scheduled clash against Udinese at 17:30 GMT on Wednesday.
