Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has suspended Dennis Mwanja, Head Coach of the Kenya Women’s 7s team.
The Kenya Rugby Union confirmed on Saturday that Dennis Mwanja, the Head Coach of the Women’s 7s team, has been suspended. He is accused of inappropriate conduct, misuse of authority, and disrespecting the dignity of players.
In its statement, KRU emphasised a zero-tolerance policy on misconduct.
“The Board of the Kenya Rugby Union wants to make it clear that it will not shield any individual whose actions violate the trust and well-being of our players, and remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and safety within the Union,” the Union said.
The suspension comes at a critical time, with the Women’s 7s team preparing for important tournaments. The Union is expected to appoint an interim coach to ensure training and preparations continue smoothly.
KRU did not release further details on the accusations but confirmed that investigations are already ongoing. The Union has assured players and fans that disciplinary action will be taken quickly if the claims are proven true.
