Japan introduces a new automatic full-body washing pod called the Mirai Human Washing Machine.

The machine washes, rinses and dries a person without any manual effort. It uses micro-bubble technology and comes with sensors for safety.

Japan has unveiled an innovation that looks like something from a science fiction movie.
A company called Science Inc. has released the Mirai Human Washing Machine, a full-body bath pod that cleans a person automatically from start to finish.

The machine, first showcased at the Osaka World Expo, is now officially available for purchase.
However, only people with access to luxury hotels or high-end spas will likely experience it due to the high cost

The pod looks similar to a tanning capsule or a capsule hotel bed.
Users step inside, sit on a reclined seat, and the door closes behind them.

The machine then releases microscopic bubbles that wash the body thoroughly, removing dirt, oil and dead skin.
Soft music plays in the background to help the user relax.

After washing and rinsing, the machine dries the body automatically.
The entire process takes about fifteen minutes.

Science Inc. says the Mirai is not just a cleaning device.
Company spokeswoman Sachiko Maekura explained that the machine is meant to “wash the body and wash the soul”.

The pod has advanced sensors that monitor heart rate and other body signals.
If the system detects stress or panic, it slows down or stops for safety.

The idea is not completely new.
A similar concept appeared at the 1970 Osaka Expo, inspiring Science Inc. chairman Yasuaki Aoyama to bring it back with modern technology.

The Mirai Human Washing Machine is not built for home use.
It costs around 60 million yen, about $385,000 (KSh 59.5 million).

Because of the high price, the first customers are expected to be luxury hotels, spas, resorts and theme parks.
Science Inc. plans to build only 40 to 50 units at first, all of them hand-made.

The company says cheaper home versions may be developed in the future once the technology becomes easier to mass-produce.
