A 48-year-old mother is being held in Limpopo after it is claimed that she killed her wheelchair-bound 18-year-old son.

The 48-year-old mother is accused of chopping off her son’s head in an incident that the Limpopo police called “shocking.”

Leshikishiki hamlet, in the Lebowakgomo police region, is where the incident took place.

“On Friday, May 3, 2024, at about 1:00 p.m., a report was filed regarding the murder of a young guy. The 18-year-old man’s head was on the ground and his severed body was resting on his wheelchair when the police arrived at the scene, which was next to a neighborhood tavern, according to Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, the provincial police spokesperson for Limpopo.

Surprisingly, nobody was discovered at the location.
Further details on this.

Mashaba stated that the mother of the dead adolescent was found after police officers started their first inquiries.

“She was positively connected to her own son’s murder after extensive investigations, and she was taken into custody.

Additionally, a knife that the mother, the suspect, is suspected of using to chop off the victim’s head has been found by police at the scene, he said.

Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the provincial police commissioner for Limpopo, expressed her “deep shock” at the unfortunate event.

This terrible occurrence has had a profound impact on the SAPS family as well as our community. Hadebe stated, “Parents have a crucial role to nurture and safeguard their children, whereas the police are duty bound to protect and serve the public.

“The foolish mother’s heinous deed is decried for its disrespect. The law will apply itself, fearlessly and impartially.

Limpopo police have initiated a murder investigation; the reason for the horrific assault is still unknown.

The mother, 48, is scheduled to appear before the Limpopo Thabamoopo Magistrate’s Court.
