Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo, one of Kenya’s most outspoken and controversial political figures, has openly addressed a deeply personal subject: being childless.
Known to many as the fearless “bad girl” of Kenyan politics, Millie made it clear that she feels no shame about not having children and refuses to be silenced by online criticism or societal pressure.
Speaking candidly, Millie said she has learned to ignore negativity and online trolling, choosing instead to focus on positive and empowering messages.
She described being childless not as a weakness, but as a privilege that women should not be ashamed of.
According to her, women without children deserve equal respect, recognition, and representation because they are just as much a part of society as anyone else.

The legislator revealed that she frequently receives emotional messages from women who are childless and feel invisible or marginalized.
Many, she said, struggle with silence and pain due to how society judges and labels them. These stories, she added, have strengthened her resolve to speak out.
Millie emphasized that she will continue using her platform to advocate for childless women, encouraging them to embrace their identity without fear.
She affirmed that she is proud of who she is and remains unapologetic about her life choices, standing firmly in solidarity with women who often feel unheard.
