Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has openly declared his political stance following a dramatic fallout with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, signalling renewed loyalty to President William Ruto and distancing himself from emerging opposition rhetoric.
In a fiery statement delivered partly in Kikuyu, Kuria accused Gachagua of betrayal and political recklessness, describing him as “more dangerous than William Ruto.”
He claimed that the political landscape had shifted irreversibly, declaring that he had now fully embraced the “Tutam” position after previously staying neutral.
“I was not Tutam. I am from today,” Kuria said, adding that going forward, it was “ni mimi na wewe,” a phrase widely interpreted as a direct alignment with President Ruto against Gachagua’s camp.
Kuria’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions in Mt Kenya following chaotic scenes at recent public events, including funerals, where rival political slogans and confrontations have played out in full public view.
His statement appeared to reference those developments, accusing Gachagua of stoking division and instability.
