For the better part of Friday 12th, December 2025, news continued to hit headlines across various social media platforms, after the Guinness World Records acknowledged and approved Truphena Muthoni’s first tree hugging challenge, where her hands remained round a tree for a gruelling 48 hours, in bid to create awareness about conservation of the environment.

After the bold move, Truphena Muthoni who was seemingly over the moon was not shy to share the news to Kenyans, that her first challenge had been recorded and recognized worldwide, as she awaits for her new record to be ratified by the international organization.
Through her social media platforms, Truphena Muthoni shared the special news to Kenyans with a caption “It’s finally home” before affirming that her recent record of hugging a tree for 72 hours is awaiting to be approved before being ratified and acknowledged.

In regards to the matter, the Guinness World Records has delivered a special message to Kenyans, on what needs to be done for Truphena Muthoni’s recent challenge to be recognized and be approved in the books of history.
Through a special appeal to Kenyans, the Guinness World Records pleaded with Kenyans across the country not to uproot the tree that Truphena Muthoni had hugged for 72 hours, in bid to collect substantial evidences that her claims are nothing but the truth.
