Majority Leader of the Senate Aron Cheruiyot has responded to the outspoken words of the former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i who had declared that nobody could steal elections under his watch.

On Monday during the handing of milk coolers to Kericho dairy farmers at Moi Gardens, Cheruiyot dismissed the criticism of the opposition against the Kenya Kwanza administration.

He accused the leaders of United Opposition of having no moral right to even preach to the government about how the government should govern or develop and that they were trying to pretend to be the mouthpiece of the common Kenyan without any form of elected mandate.

Cheruiyot issued a direct alert to the opposition figures in a precursor to the next General Election, warning them that their political plan was a failure.

He hurled his harshest criticism at Matiang’i who during a church assembly on Sunday, February 22, had informed the congregants that no one would steal his votes.

Cheruiyot sneered at this statement, asking how many votes Matiang’i can really command to cause him to fear electoral theft.

This remark highlights the will of Kenya Kwanza to defy the opposition accounts and to solidify the ruling party in its political machine.
