Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga faults Kalonzo Musyoka for publicly responding to Raila Odinga instead of privately.
Speaking during a political event, Governor Gladys Wanga accused Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka of showing disrespect to ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Wanga alleged that Raila had written a private letter inviting Kalonzo to ODM’s anniversary celebrations, but instead of responding directly, Kalonzo chose to address the issue through the media.
“Kalonzo hauna adabu. Baba alikuandikia barua ya siri ukuje kwa sherehe ya ODM, kwani nini unakuja kumjibu kwa media badala ya kumjibu kwa siri vile alifanya?” Wanga said.
Her remarks come at a time when Azimio la Umoja is facing internal strains, with questions over loyalty, unity, and succession dominating political debates.
Wanga stressed that respect for coalition partners is essential to maintaining cohesion, adding that Raila’s long-standing role in Kenya’s opposition struggle deserves courtesy and honour from allies.
Kalonzo, often viewed as Raila’s most likely successor within Azimio, has in recent weeks made strong political statements that have fueled speculation about his future relationship with Odinga and ODM.
Wanga’s rebuke reflects the growing undercurrents in the coalition, as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
