Former Matiang’i Close Ally Opens Up Reveals Why He Dropped Matiang’i to Fully Support President William Ruto

Jonah Onkendi has today spoken openly about his political choice and why he decided to work with President William Ruto.Speaking, Onkendi said his decision followed deep reflection and long consultations with leaders and supporters from the Gusii region and Bonchari.

Onkendi stated that leadership demands readiness courage and clear plans that can improve lives without endless waiting.He explained that he previously supported Dr Fred Matiangi with hope and loyalty believing he would be prepared to lead.

Over time he said he noticed delays silence and a lack of direction which made many supporters feel ignored and uncertain.According to Onkendi leadership is about showing up listening and acting when the moment calls for responsibility.

He said despite Matiangi being a respected son of the region he does not appear ready for the national task ahead.Because of this he chose to engage President Ruto and explore ways of working with the current government.

Onkendi recalled his recent meeting at State House Nairobi which he described as respectful open and focused on citizens.He said the invitation showed trust and willingness to listen beyond party lines and personal history.

Before attending the meeting he said he consulted widely and informed political colleagues to remain transparent.He insisted that talking to the President about people problems is not betrayal but a duty to the nation.

The former Bonchari aspirant said he wants development roads jobs and services to reach ordinary families faster.He added that waiting in political camps where voices are ignored only delays progress and hope.

Onkendi noted that he once backed another presidential hopeful in good faith but felt his effort was not valued.That experience he said forced him to rethink where his energy and support could produce real results.

He stressed that his support for President Ruto is not blind and will always be guided by the Constitution.He promised to speak out against injustice misuse of power and policies that harm citizens.Onkendi urged his supporters to avoid fear driven politics and reject ethnic divisions and insults.

He called for dialogue unity and focus on nation building rather than endless political battles.The US based businessman said Kenya needs leaders who communicate clearly and act with accountability.His message signals shifting alliances across the Gusii.His remarks come as political activity rises in Kisii and Nyamira ahead of the 2027 elections.
