A massive explosion rocked Bahrain after an Iran ballistic missile reportedly struck the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) oil refinery in Maameer, triggering large fires at one of the Gulf nation’s most critical energy facilities.
A fire that broke out at a unit of Bahrain’s BAPCO Energies refinery following a missile strike has been fully contained, authorities said.
In a statement, the Bahraini government confirmed the blaze started after the facility was hit during the ongoing regional escalation involving Iran. Emergency teams responded quickly and managed to bring the fire under control.
Officials said there were no reported injuries, and refinery operations are continuing while authorities assess the extent of the damage.
