Kenya’s Doris Lemngole made her name known after winning the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the Lausanne Diamond League. The 19-year-old was making her first appearance on such a stage and did not disappoint.
Despite heavy rain during the race, Lemngole stayed strong and crossed the line in 9:16.36. She finished almost four seconds ahead of her closest challenger, showing great strength and composure.
Her victory adds to Kenya’s rich record in the steeplechase event, proving once again the nation’s dominance in long-distance running. With such a performance, she has joined the list of athletes keeping Kenya’s name at the top.
