Cristiano Ronaldo: “Nobody in the world is more famous than me”
Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo believes he is more famous than US President Donald Trump.
“I think there’s no one in the world more famous than me,” the Portuguese star said in the second part of the “ Piers Morgan Uncensored” program, referring to his level of fame compared to the US president. Ronaldo isn’t happy about it. “I wish I wasn’t so famous. I wanted to be successful. But I didn’t want to be this famous,” the 40-year-old said.
Ronaldo said he would like to meet Trump for a conversation: “He is one of the most important people in the world.” Trump can make things happen and “change the world,” Ronaldo emphasized, linking this to the hope for more peace in the world.
Circus surrounding professional footballers
In an interview with British presenter Piers Morgan, Ronaldo also defended his decision not to attend the funeral of his national teammate Diogo Jota. He said he hadn’t been to a funeral since his father’s death. Attending Jota’s funeral would have drawn all the attention to himself, which he didn’t want. “Wherever I go, it’s a circus,” Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo incurs wrath after saying Saudi Pro League is better than Portuguese and Ligue 1
The former Manchester United star is currently plying his trade for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr and has hyped up the league.
Since joining the club, he had been the best player, becoming the club’s fourth-highest goal scorer in their history.
He has scored 108 goals in 121 appearances, won one trophy, and set the Saudi Pro League’s single-season scoring record.
