Incident occurred in Witeithie, near Telaviv
A tragic incident unfolded in Witeithie, near Telaviv, after a college student allegedly killed his girlfriend and later died by suicide in what is suspected to be a love triangle gone wrong.
The deceased woman was a student at TIBS College in Thika. Her body was discovered inside a residence in Witeithie, where her lover reportedly took his own life by hanging shortly after the murder.
Preliminary reports suggest the man was married and had one child, adding a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigations.
Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Juja, led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Hussain of Witeithie Police Station, visited the scene and secured evidence.
The bodies were later moved to General Kago Funeral Home in Thika.
Authorities have launched a full investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“We are treating the matter as a suspected murder-suicide. Investigations are underway,” a police source said.
