AKA Murder Suspects Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande Drop Appeal, Paving the Way for Extradition to South Africa to Face trial’

The extradition of Siyabonga Gezani and Malusi Dave Ndimande to South Africa is set to proceed after they abandoned their appeal against a 2024 Manzini Magistrate’s Court ruling.

The decision marks a key step in the long-running case over the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

The Ndimande brothers were arrested in Eswatini on February 24, 2024, after being linked to the 2023 Durban shooting that claimed the lives of Forbes and Motsoane.

Their withdrawal notice was filed at the High Court by their legal representatives, Sivesonkhe Ngwenya Attorneys.

Following their arrest, South Africa’s government requested their extradition, which Eswatini approved in August 2024.

The brothers initially appealed the ruling, citing procedural issues and personal safety risks if returned to South Africa for trial.

Once extradited, they will stand trial alongside five co-accused already detained in South Africa.

The extradition, conducted under Eswatini–South Africa legal cooperation, brings the high-profile case closer to trial nearly three years after AKA’s murder.
