First son Barron Trump gets pitched for a job at TikTok
First son Barron Trump is being pitched for a potential job at the social media platform, TikTok.
President Donald Trump’s former TikTok producer Jack Advent, known as “TikTok Jack” by the president, said he hopes Barron Trump, 19, will be appointed to the social media’s board.
“Young people are overwhelmingly the user base of TikTok,” he told The Daily Mail. “I’m hopeful President Trump will consider appointing his son Barron and maybe other young Americans to TikTok’s board to help ensure it remains an app young people want to keep using.”
Trump recently returned to TikTok after signing an executive order that makes the app, originally owned in China, under majority U.S. ownership.
ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company based in China, still is a stakeholder. Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to the deal.
Trump said young people “owed him” for saving the social media app.
“To all of those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big,” he said. “And now you’re looking at me in the Oval Office and you’re going to be doing a great job also.”
Vice President J.D. Vance also made a return to TikTok.
“Glad to be back on TikTok thanks to President Trump!” he wrote on X earlier this week. “Follow along over on TikTok for more updates from the White House, and maybe even some sombrero memes.
