Court Issues Fresh Orders in Robert Burale’s Defamation Case Against Alex and Rozina Mwakideu

Burale told women not to reveal their male best friends to partners.

Pastor Robert Burale is once again trending this time not for his sermons or motivational talks, but for controversial relationship advice that has rubbed many Kenyans the wrong way.

In a video shared on Sunday, the preacher warned women that “no man wants to hear that your best friend is another man.” What seemed like casual advice quickly turned into a heated debate, with online users questioning his moral authority on matters of love and relationships.

Many critics pointed to Burale’s well-known failed marriage to Rozina Mwakideu, the sister to media personality Alex Mwakideu. The union ended years ago, with Burale previously admitting that “too many external voices” contributed to its collapse.

Social media users argued that his personal history disqualifies him from offering relationship counsel. One user wrote:

“Work on your self-esteem and your own home before preaching to others.”

Another added:

“You couldn’t handle one woman, yet you’re advising all women in Kenya.”

Some even compared him to controversial content creator Andrew Kibe, branding him “a Kenyan version of Andrew Kibe in a suit.”

Despite the criticism, Burale has remained unapologetic. He insists that his past experiences make him better placed to guide others and prevent them from repeating the same mistakes.

While Burale’s remarks went viral, the reactions suggest that his message may not have landed as intended. For many Kenyans, his past still overshadows his attempts at offering counsel, leaving him caught between being a preacher of wisdom and a target of ridicule.
