Senator Boni Khalwale claims CS Wycliffe Oparanya is in an affair with Kakamega Woman Rep Elsie Muhanda.
According to Senator Khalwale, Elsie Muhanda, who also serves in Oparanya’s office, abandoned her matrimonial home soon after his Cabinet appointment. Khalwale alleged that she later moved in with the CS.
Her estranged husband has accused Oparanya of using his powerful position to interfere with their marriage.
Khalwale openly criticised Oparanya, calling his alleged actions “immoral and unbecoming conduct” for a senior government official.
So far, neither Oparanya nor Muhanda has responded to the allegations.
The claims have heightened political tension in Kakamega, where rival camps are now using the scandal to either defend or attack their leaders.
