Former Kakamega Governor and current Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya’s relationship with his young girlfriend, Mary Biketi, ended in June 2024.
Oparanya is reported to have ended his relationship with Biketi mid-last year. Before the split, he had rented her a high-end apartment in Kileleshwa. After their fallout, Biketi is said to have relocated to a modest residence in Syokimau.
Sources claim she has continued to portray a picture of luxury on social media and in interviews, allegedly still attaching her name to Oparanya to stay visible in public circles.
The affair first caught public attention when private photos of the two leaked online, sparking a heated debate about their relationship. Some even suggested Biketi herself may have leaked the images.
Oparanya later admitted to the affair but avoided commenting on the breakup.
The revelations once again bring focus to the personal lives of Kenya’s political leaders, where power, money, and romance often mix.
