Immaculate Odhuno,Gembe Released on Bond Over Alleged Gold Fraud
Immaculate Adhiambo Odhuno and her co-accused Benson Odero Gembe have been released on bond after spending the weekend in police cells.
The pair had been arraigned last week over claims of defrauding foreign investors in a multi-million shilling fake gold deal.
Milimani Law Courts magistrate Hon. Dolphina Alego granted the two a bond of KSh1 million or an alternative cash bail of KSh200,000 with two sureties.
The pair had been arraigned last week over claims of defrauding foreign investors in a multi-million shilling fake gold deal. They are facing charges of conspiracy to defraud and obtaining money by false pretences, contrary to sections 317 and 313 of the Penal Code.
Court documents allege that between August 24 and October 19, 2024, Top-Edge Clothing proprietor(Immaculate)and Gembe, together with others not before court, conspired to swindle M/s Sonali Purbia Malviya and Mohammed Adel of USD 54,300 (about KSh7 million).
Police arrested the suspects on August 13, 2025, following a report by the complainants. They were arraigned the next day and held in custody pending bond determination.
