PSG beat Tottenham 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in Italy.

Tottenham Hotspur, under new coach Thomas Frank, looked on course for glory in their first competitive match. Micky van de Ven netted in the 39th minute, and Cristian Romero’s header early in the second half doubled their advantage.

PSG refused to give up. Substitute Lee Kang-in pulled one back in the 85th minute, and Goncalo Ramos struck deep in stoppage time to level the match 2-2 and force penalties.

The shoot-out had its twists — PSG’s Vitinha missed early, but keeper Lucas Chevalier stopped Van de Ven’s kick, and Spurs’ Mathys Tel also failed to convert. Nuno Mendes buried the decisive penalty to seal the 4-3 win.

The victory is PSG’s first UEFA Super Cup title and their fifth trophy of 2025. Captain Marquinhos praised his side’s belief and discipline, warning that letting PSG back into a game can be costly.

The match saw Spurs debut Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha, while PSG’s new goalkeeper Chevalier impressed on his first outing. PSG now face Nantes in their Ligue 1 opener, while Spurs prepare to meet Burnley in the Premier League.
