19-year-old Phoenix man arrested for vandalising Charlie Kirk memorial

  • On Sunday morning, September 14, Phoenix police arrested 19-year-old Ryder Corral for allegedly trespassing and vandalizing a memorial outside Turning Point USA headquarters.
  • The memorial honored Charlie Kirk, a political activist and founder of Turning Point USA who was fatally shot four days earlier at Utah Valley University.
  • Officers were nearby managing traffic amid a significant gathering of community members after recent events when witnesses observed Corral vandalizing the memorial and held him until police arrived.
  • Phoenix police reported that Corral has been arrested on several offenses, among them vandalism and disruptive behavior, and confirmed that no serious injuries resulted from the event.
  • Corral will be formally booked on these charges, and Turning Point USA plans a stadium-sized public memorial service for Kirk on September 21 in Glendale, Arizona.

Phoenix police arrested 19-year-old Ryder Corral for vandalising a memorial to Charlie Kirk outside TPUSA’s Phoenix HQ, days after the activist’s fatal shooting.

The Phoenix police arrested 19-year-old Ryder Corral for destroying a memorial in front of the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) building in Phoenix early Sunday morning.

Authorities confirmed that Ryder Corral was taken into custody after bystanders restrained him until officers arrived. The incident took place near 48th Street and Beverly Road, where a community memorial had been set up to honour Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist and TPUSA founder, who was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University on September 10.
