There have been reports of a spectacular break-out from the Lindela Repatriation Centre, located in Krugersdorp, just west of Johannesburg, where some 65 undocumented immigrants were waiting to be deported back to their home countries.
Witnesses reported that several prisoners were able to breach a portion of the perimeter fence around the institution, taking advantage of a chance to escape.
Witnesses reported that security guards were after the escapees while they were running around with their things, and the scene was chaotic.
